Inclement Weather Policy (Rain / Heat / Lightning)

Generally we treat inclement weather as a regular day. As the quote goes: "There is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices". Should there be light rain we will be outside and continuing to run our program. If the clay infields start to get mushy we will do modified activities on the grass outfield areas.

• As always, parents can make their own judgment whether or not to send their camper to camp on potential inclement weather days. Please ensure you inform Assistant Director Finley (647-916-4908) if your child will be late or absent so we can have an accurate attendance. Early pick ups still need to be signed out. There are no make up days in these circumstances.
• In the event of unsafe playing conditions while campers are at camp, we will make temporary use of the indoor change rooms at the Highview Park Building for those at Highview or a space at the Birchmount Community Centre for those using the Birchmount Park fields. Instructors will use the time to develop knowledge of the game, "what if" scenarios, positioning, trivia, pitch grips etc. Should the weather not let up over an extended period of time, we may ask parents to pick up their child(ren).
• In the event that we know ahead of time that weather will prevent safe operation of our outdoor camp, we reserve the right to cancel camp and will do so in a timely manner. Information will be communicated to parents via the registration email on file. If someone else other than the registering parent will need the information about cancellation then please ensure that Finley has that information (finleybaseballcamp@gmail.com). In the case where an inclement weather cancellation is officially called by Finley or Andrew, parents will be provided with the opportunity for a make up anytime later in the summer equal to the time lost (half day or full day).
