Welcome to Pace Baseball Clinics: Focusing on Skill Improvement & Fun 

Fall '25, Winter and Spring '26 Term registration are now open!

 

Everything you need to know!

Why?: Develop noticeable improvement in baseball skills and knowledge, great preparation for the upcoming baseball season and it's a ton of fun!

Who?: All levels welcome - New to Baseball /House League /Select /Rep (Fall)

Where?: Toronto City Sports Centre, 32 Curity Ave, Toronto, On., M4B 0A2

When?: Sundays (Oct 19-May 3)

Ages 5–9 (2016 - 2020 birth years)
🕒 6:30–7:55 p.m.
Fun, fast-paced skill building to help players grow in confidence and ability, ending with an exciting 25 minute game
Wrap-up and dismissal by 7:55 so everyone’s heading home before 8:00 — perfect for a smooth bedtime.

Ages 10–14 (2011 - 2015 birth years and advanced 2016s)
🕒 7:55–9:25 p.m.
Focused training to sharpen skills and boost game performance. 25 minute game to ensure a fun time to cap off the session each day.
Wrap-up and dismissal by 9:25 so everyone’s heading home before 9:30 — even on a school night.

What to Bring?:

  • baseball glove
  • non-marking running shoes (cleats and socked feet only are not allowed)
  • refillable water bottle or drink with secure lid
  • athletic clothing (no jeans please)
  • a coachable attitude

Curriculum by Age Group

6:30 - 7:55 p.m. Session (Born in 2018 or 2019 or 2020)

  • proper throwing mechanics
  • glove positioning for balls caught above and below belly button
  • ready position 
  • receiving ground balls with 2 hands in front of body
  • receiving fly balls with 2 hands above head 
  • heads up base running
  • proper use of safety base at 1st
  • batting stance and grip of bat
  • “loading” and efficient batting mechanics
  • hitting off a tee and from underhand and overhand soft toss
  • defensive spacing and basic awareness and attempted execution of ways to get baserunners out

 

6:30 - 7:55 p.m. Session (Born in 2016, 2017)

  • proper throwing mechanics
  • refinement of glove positioning for receiving balls
  • timing of ready position
  • moving quickly to receive ground balls with 2 hands in front of body
  • moving to receive fly balls with 2 hands above head
  • running banana routes or straightaways
  • sliding into second
  • choosing a bat and glove that's right for you
  • "loading" and efficient batting mechanics
  • hitting off a tee and from underhand and overhand soft toss for power
  • defensive spacing and awareness and attempted execution of fielding skills

 

7:55 - 9:25 p.m. Session (Born in 2014, 2015 and advanced 2016)

  • proper throwing techniques
  • pitching mechanics for accuracy 
  • different fastball pitching grips 
  • back catching set up, framing and receiving pitches
  • quickness / footwork for receiving ground balls on back hand, forehand and in front
  • moving in different directions to fly balls 
  • heads up base running and footwork approaching the base
  • hitting for solid contact
  • timing cues for hitting
  • positioning, communication and game strategy

 

7:55 - 9:25 p.m. Session (Born in 2011, 2012, 2013)

  • proper throwing techniques
  • pitching mechanics for accuracy and power
  • different safe pitching grips (2 seam.4 seam, change-up, knuckleball)
  • back catching set up, framing and receiving pitches
  • receiving ground balls on back hand, forehand and in front
  • moving in different directions to fly balls 
  • heads up base running
  • hitting for power
  • hitting strategies for the inside and outside pitch
  • positioning, communication and game strategy
